So?

Exams, proyects and presentations are driving me crazy! The pressure right after thanksgiving break is making me miss home. For some reasons, yesterday when I went to bed (for less than 2 hours) I had the weirdest dream.

I don't remember everything but I just remember hugging my first boyfriend for a really really long time. Afterwards, I was in a car accident and I probably died... That was when I woke up.

The feeling of hugging him was so real. I was so confused when I woke up and started to cry. I have always handled pressure and deadlines pretty well, but this dream killed my peace.

My exam is in 8 minutes and I am still pretty confused.

Happy Thanksgiving

Actually, we (Panamanians) don't have Thanksgiving! But I would to take this day to say thanks to everything and everyone! I want to thank God for giving me the gift of life, amazing parents, and friends! Thank you God for loving my parents and giving them strength and health! Thank you mom and dad for giving me the best, for spoiling me, for the clothes I wear, the love that exceeds love, and support!

We should always be grateful for everything, even the simplest things. This week, one of my highschool friend's mom passed away. According to my friend, she was doing fine the night before. They were talking by the living room until the late night. And the next day, she simply didn't wake up. Life is very delicate and precious, we should thank God for giving up the opportunity to live.

Tonight, we had our Thanksgiving/Dad's Birthday/Anita's Farewell Dinner! We called in the entire family to celebrate and have fun together! We had a lot of yummy food, but we didn't have a turkey. Maybe for a lot of you it's not thanksgiving dinner if there's no turkey! But for me, this is the dinner that allowed me understand that even the simplest thing like waking up in the morning deserves a thank you God!

Thanksgiving Break

Last Thanksgiving, I went home without telling my dad and surprised him on his birthday! This year, he knows that I'm coming back! What should I do to surprise him?

ASR Bingo Night

ASR's National Philanthropy is ovarian cancer coalition. Yesterday, we had our bi annual bingo night to raise funds for tbt cause.

We decided to make theme related bingo cards. It means that instead of numbers, there were words related to ovarian cancer on each square.

Appreciation Dinner

Today, my manager hosted the volunteers from the event to his place for an appreciation dinner! There was a lot of food, drinks, laughter and fun. His wife prepared chicken, pork, beef and a lot more! He thought us how to eat Colombian potatoes! He made Aji and told us to use it as a salsa for the potatoes. Everything was so exquisite and classy! We had wine and canelazo with rum!

It's was super cold last night, but tonight it was better. It was a little chill outside but the weather was perfect for a gathering. We had music around, candles and a little chimney! It's the end of the year and it feels like a family dinner!  I love interning for Please BE KIND because they are just so nice! Everyone is like my family.

Photobooth

So, for the Please BE KIND Soirée, I was in charge of the photobooth!

That's me with one of the volunteers that I was taking care of!

I love the shinny fringes! We had two huge lights spotting the photobooth to give the pictures the elegant, glamorous and vivid color!

We had some Mardi Grad Beads by the registration area so that people can wear. We also had some props, masks, boa by the photobooth area! Plus, the Polaroid with the hashtag!

Pole Dancing ain't easy

Yesterday, I went to my first pole dancing class with two of my friends! And trust me... Next time I see a pole I will never let it go! Lol

The class was a lot of fun! I learned a lot of new ways to play around the pole...but I can't do any! I have no upper body strength! It's hard for me to raise myself! I guess I have to work out more in order to pole dance!

Totally doing it wrong in this picture (don't laught please)

Don't Look

I was surfing online and came across these pictures!

PBK Soirée

For this semester, I got an Event Coordinator internship with Please BE KIND to Cyclists! Last Saturday was the day of the event, Masquerade Soirée!

I had to take care of volunteers, registration, decoration and making sure that the speakers were aware that they are the next up. It was a crazy night! But fun! Once again, this event proves that I enjoy event planning a lot!

During set up and preparation, I wore something really comfortable and when the event started... I made sure I looked fun and professional!

Here are aome pictures of the event! I will upload more later when the photographers are done editing the pictures!

Cut It

So, on a random Thursday night/ Friday morning around 2am, I have decided to cut my hair!

I always wanted to cut my hair, but I was just too afraid that I will not look good with short hair. I just needed that little push. On Thursday, after my exams, stressful week, interviews and everything else, I have decided to cut my own hair!

The problem is.... It's so hard to cut your hair yourself! Cutting the bangs was easy but not the hair on the back! So my roommate had to help me at the end!

Lesson: sometimes being spontaneous is fun! I don't regret cutting my hair at all! And I LOVE MY SHORT HAIR!

Halloween 2014

It's Halloween, one of the best celebrated days! For this year, I wore 2 costumes for Friday and Saturday.

MATCHTY MATCHY
Two of my sisters and me have decided to match on Friday! Last year we were Minions from Despicable Me and this year, Minnie Mouse! This is a very easy costume that everyone can make! If you are trying to match with your friends, this is a super cute, easy, chick and timeless costume! Let's be honest, RED looks good on everyone! And everyone knows Minnie Mouse!

ROBIN THE SIDEKICK
For the second night, Saturday, I have decided to be Robin! Why Robin?
So, last year, two of my best friends started dating each other. We used to always hangout together, the 3 of us! But now, I'm the "Thirdwheel" So, my friends were Batman and Batgirl, and I'm Robin, their sidekick! If you have friends like mines or you are me in the relationship, you should definetely try this!

P.S. I recently got a haircut! Thanks to my amazing roommate, Candice

Now What?

I was walking around today and saw something that changed my life. Well, not really... It just changed my grocery budget for the week! Got to eat less this upcoming week!

I bought a new set of Prisma Color Pencils! As always, they are super expensive but super worthed! If you had ever used Prisma Colors you know that they are super nice for blending colors! I'm looking forward to create something soon!

Jumpstreet

This Saturday, I organized a social event for our sisters to enjoy! We went to jumpstreet, trampoline land!

Since I was sick this week, I thought it was better for me not to go because I will not have the energy to be jumping around! It turns out that I had a lot of fun!

Renaissance Fest

Today I went to the renaissance fest! I really love the environment because everything looks so real! Everyone was dressed up, music was super merry, shows were super entertaining! Once you are in there, you feel that you are part of them!

Yesterday was a really stressful day because I had an interview. On top of that, I was having an artist block and couldn't come up with any idea to decorate the venue for an event that's coming up soon. And, I almost missed my bus to Houston!

But the fest made me forget about everything! Now, I'm so inspired and ready to go back to design for the event!

My big bought me a flower crown 👑🌸

Finally Here!

Everyone knows I love pretty parties! For me, every event deserves to be appreciated and pretty! And one of my favorite event planners is David Tutera! Yay! He is my role model and inspiration. Today his book finally arrived in the mail! I can't wait to read it and get inspired!

Bottles

On Friday, I was shopping for tomorrow's career fair. As I was walking around, I saw something super interesting! I love how they use the bottles to hang the bracelets. The problem is I appreciate the bottles more than the bracelets, I didn't really pay attention to the bracelets. Rather, I just want to decorate my place with the bottles. They just stacked too many bracelets on one single bottle. The beauty of the bracelets couldn't be appreciated. But overall, I love the store!

The next day I see one of my friend posting this! I feel that it's super adorable

I love bottles! 💜

First Day at Be Kind To Cyclists

Today is my first day interning for BE KIND TO CYCLISTS as an Event Volunteer Coordinator. I am working casual environment, so I decided to wear something comfortable, chic and still professional! Here's my outfit of the day:

I love Navy Blue; it's one of my favorite colors. I decided to add a Burgundy Red blazer with it to create a sailor feeling, but not dated to sailor days. The pointy Nude heels give it a professional but tredy look! Hope you like it!

Assignment Planner

I love planners! I always buy decorated, pretty planners and agendas. This time I decided to buy a simple UT one! It has a transparent cover and a Longhorn. When I first saw the transparent cover, I knew I could be super creative with it! I have decided to decorate it with photos and pictures of stuff I love!

My Birthday Thing

The ideal nacho bar! So for my birthday, I decided to have a little space for creativity! A Nachos Bar!

For toppings, I had jalapeños, black olives, red beans, etc. I had queso and chili, quacamole, humus, salsa, ranch and so much more for the dipping! Everything looked so good but actually people were just more into queso and chili than anything else. So, if you are planning one, make sure to have more queso and not that many things!

My initial plan was to have as many options as I can so that the bar looks full and "rich"! But it is a waste when some dipping is untouched.

Lesson: not everything goes as planned, so do your research :)

To label the sauces, dippings and toppings, I decided to use the traditonal wooden clips! Since my birthday party was a barbecue themed, the rough style goes with it!

I also used the wooden clips to create my happy birthday banner!

Well, I had over 60 guests in my party and we all had FUN! That's what matters!

Sprinkles Birthday!

Had to share about this cute idea! My friends birthday was coming up so me and a group of friends have decided to surprise her. While walking around the supermarket, I saw these cute little party hats! I loved the colors and how it makes me feel like a kid again! So I bought them and decided to write something on them! This made the surprise cuter than every! Everyone was in love with the hats because they were just so personalized! Every hat is designed according to their relationships with the birthday girl! Since everything was so last minute, this easy party hat make everything look nicer!

Obviously, we surprised her with a cake, balloons and roses (courtesy of her boyfriend)!

ASR Convention at Philadelphia

Hola! Today I'm going to Philadelphia with one of my ASR sisters, Elysia! I have never been to Philadelphia and I'm not even close to anyone there! I'm kind of nervous but at the same time excited to see how the other ASRs are! My only concern is that I still have homework due this Sunday, so hopefully I can have fun and finish my homework on time! I'm usually good at time management, but summer is summer! LOL

Hola

It has been a while since I last posted here! I feel terribly bad for not posting! I have been really busy with summer school, moving, getting a Texas driver license and internship. Next week, I will post about what I did for my birthday in Panama! I had around 30 friends and 30 relatives at my place! It was kind of a big celebration! Tune in with me next week to see what I did!

How Did It Go?

Como Me Fue?

So, my last blog was my last blog of the semester. I was blogging because my curriculum requires me to do so. But actually, I realized that I enjoy blogging. I want to continue sharing everything here. I am actually considering on having my own blog, yes like a legit one. Maybe I am going to create one using GoDaddy. I will work on this during summer.

As my last blog mentioned, I organized formal for Alpha Sigma Rho. Since I am Social Chair, I organized, prepared, decorated, MC and even cleaned up for the entire event. Special shout out to my sister, Fei for helping! We were an amazing team! Our ideas flowed and we had so much fun working on it. I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but this was a joint formal with our sisters of San Antonio.

At first I was really nervous on how to manage both of our girls entertained and comfortable, but as the event went by everything came up excellent.

Me and my sister Fei made some changes on the ideas I posted before. Instead of having games, we decided to give personalized award gifts. We have one girl that just came from China. Her English is not perfect so we awarded her as "Miss Spelled" like misspelled. Then we gave her a dictionary as a gift! Everyone was laughing, even her! For our "Miss Lovebite," we gave her a condom that is presented as a lollipop. We had so much fun!

We got the photobooth backdrop idea online, and we were having problems on how do make it. As y'all know, I am kind of crazy so I thought on using crepe paper! And everything worked out! We coordinated the flower colors with the venue and backdrop!

Another change we did was to have the name tags pinned to the glasses. As the guests came in, we will ask for their names, look for the glass with their names and give it to them. It looks super elegant. Sadly, I didn't get the chance to take any picture that night because I was either preparing the MC, running around to fix minor miscommunications or MCing. It was a crazy night! I didn't even get to enjoy the yummy steak! Anyways, I enjoyed it! This is the reason why I re-ran to be Social Chair again next semester! And, yes! I GOT IT! I AM SOCIAL CHAIR AGAIN!

To end this post, I am going to leave some pictures from the event.

This was supposed to be clipped on the glass

With Fei

For this formal, I also made this formal video about our sorority! Please enjoy it!
