¿Cómo celebramos la vida?

How do we celebrate life?

Life is too short! We have to celebrate and enjoy everyday.

Yeah, that's me!

Sometimes I feel that everyday seems the same. I get bored and find a reason to celebrate or to throw a party. You might think that a college kid might only love alcoholic parties. Actually, I love to hangout and have fun dinners with my closest friends. I am a big fan of dinners with a nice theme. Sometimes, I just ran out of legit reasons to celebrate. When I said legit, I meant birthdays, graduation, accomplishments, farewells, etc. I always try to find reasons to celebrate. I started to celebrate other’s culture festivals when I was back home. I celebrated them not on the exact day, rather on random days.

This blog will take you into an adventure! We will explore different Latin American’s festivals! Anytime when you want to throw a party, you can definitely look for a theme here! It is well-known Cinco de Mayo, Dia de los Muertos, Carnaval, but do you know about other traditional festivals that are not well known in the states? Here, we are going to celebrate everything!

Before focusing on any festivals, lets talk about the mighty Quinceaños! It is not a festival, but a great reason to celebrate! I believe that a Quince Años is more important than a wedding because you can get married twice, but you are “quince” only once! Unless you are like my aunt who celebrated her “Tercer Quinceaños,” 45th birthday! If you have never celebrated your “Quince Años” then you should celebrate it in your next 15! It doesn’t matter your age! You should always celebrate it in a way that is like never before!

As Latin Americans, we love to celebrate! We love to party and enjoy all the traditional, historical, memorable festivals. A party consists mainly of at least two individuals, a place, foods and drinks, entertainment and a reason! For me “I want to enjoy life” is a great reason to celebrate and have fun!

This blog is not a boring blog that will only introduce or explain the history behind each festival. This is a blog for you to get inspired on how to celebrate life. Although there is no way for me to make huge parties every week with the limited money that I have, I can still hold small dinners for some friends. I love event planning and I will make invitations, floral decorations, and work with real restaurants or hotels here.

I love event planning but I am not working for any event planning company right now, except for my sorority. Specially shout out to my sorority! It was because of my sorority, ASR; I realized that I love event planning! My grammar is one of my weaknesses, so please have some patience while reading my blog. On the right, there is a translator that you can buy.

With everything said, I would like to conclude my blog with one of my favorite quotes

Deja de pensar en la vida y resuélvete a vivirla.
- Paulo Coelho
