Recently, I started working from 9AM-5PM. The office is an hour away from home. By the time I get home, I am out of energy and starving. After a long day, I want a to eat a huge hot meal! I don't want any microwave food or sandwiches. I can't afford the time to cook a whole meal. Another option is to eat out, but I am trying to save some money.
So here's where DUMP FOOD comes in! I have found several dump food recipes with good comments online.
Another option is to prepare the meal ahead of time and freeze it. Every morning, pick the pack of meal that you want to have for dinner and place it in the fridge. The slow change in temperature should help unfreezing a bit. By the time you get home, the bag of food is still going to be frozen, but will take less time to unfreeze.
TIP: MARK THE BAGS BEFORE FILLING THEM WITH FOOD

I am so Blessed
I am officially a done with College! I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin on May 22nd, 2015 at 3:30 PM. I always knew that I am super fortunate to have the best parents and friends. To be honest, I feel that saying "Thank You" was not enough to express how glad I felt. I think "glad," "fortunate," and "happy"are not even the right words to describe what I was feeling. I was overwhelmed with love! A lot of my friends took off work to come, some took a 3-hour long bus to come, some even drove for six hours to come! Seeing everyone inspired me to keep pushing. They make me feel important and special to this world. With over 7 billion population, this world still have a place for me. I believe that even a block wants to be something. Everyone wants to be someone. I want to be an Event Planner, someone that contributes to make people happy.
On the other hand, I have officially joined the Nini Club. Nini is a Spanish slang for "Ni Estudia, Ni Trabaja," which means neither studies nor works. Nini perfectly describes those who finished college and yet don't have a job. I have started a separate journal called "The Nini Road" to record all the feelings that I have been having.

American Trade Hotel in Panama
Sometimes I wonder if I have really explored where I am from. Obviously, I am not talking about China. I am talking about Panama, my home and shelter. I was born in Colon and I honestly don't know much anything outside of Colon.
I would say that I go to Panama City only on Sundays. Let's assume that I visit Panama City every Sunday for 5 hours and I do this for ten years, then how long have I really stayed in Panama? Trust me, this is not a class mathematical question. The answer is 2600 hours, which means around 109 days. This means that for the past 10 years, I have only been to Panama City for around three months.
Do I really know Panama? On Saturday, I am going to go back to Panama. I would like to explore a little bit more and get to know more about my country. While browsing on the internet, I cam across American Trade Hotel. I was looking at the pictures and thought "I would really love to visit there one day and just relax." While I was looking at the pictures, I didn't know that it was "Panama." I thought it was somewhere in Brazil. I don't even know why I was thinking of Brazil.
The hotel is very new, opened in the Fall of 2013. Well, I was in Austin during that time. I guess it is forgivable that I didn't know about the opening. The hotel is located in the center of Casco Viejo, Old City. For more information, please visit https://www.acehotel.com/panama

Need a Plumber?
The prank war between Matt Lauer and Ellen DeGeneres continues. This week, Matt has decided to put on a billboard with a real number about Ellen providing plumbing services. Please not the "butt crack"
I have decided to call the number to see make sure that the number really exist. And it does! This war started with Ellen creating and showing a video of Matt Lauer wearing some really unique outfit during The Today Show.
A lot of audience believed that the clip was real! They really thought that Matt wore that on the show! Actually, it was Ellen's team work. They created the video! Once again, technology has shown that everything can be possible.

Periscope
Periscope is an app that allows people to stream live videos of their surrounding! I head about this app from The Ellen Show and have decided to download it so see how it works. I thought this was just another snapchat.
The app is linked with your Twitter, so you can create an account using your Twitter and follow the people you already follow. I follow TVN Noticias, news from Panama. This app is very useful if there's something happening. I could watch live video from Panama about The Summit of Americas! It kept me updated with everything that's going on!
As I'm not following too many people yet, or not many people that I'm interested on are on it yet, there are times that there's no one streaming. It's a new technology and concept, let's see if it will survive or fail!
Follow me and I will start streaming about my day to day life, show you my room, and even answer questions!

Flight got delayed
I got a call from a 800 number saying that my flight got delayed. Since its April Fool, I didn't want to really believe it. So, I had to ask around. Well, unfortunately everything got delayed today... My flight from Austin to Dallas, to Miami.
At least I got to take a nice pic when I was up there!

Alumnae Weekend
On Saturday March 28, the Beta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Rho Sorority celebrated founder's day by inviting their alumnae back to campus! We started the day with a brief speech about our Chapter. Later on, we had our potential new members present themselves and had lunch with them. We ended the day, with a Black and Red dinner, where active members wear red and alumnae wear black.
Managing a sorority can be stressful and exhausting sometimes. A lot of burden and responsibility falls on me. Whenever there is an error, I am the first one to be blamed. But seeing the alumnae coming back for Alumnae Weekend makes me believe in all my efforts and dedication again. Seeing how girls who left school for so long are still so passionate about ASR makes me believe in myself again. It makes me realize that I am not alone, I will always have the support of all my sisters!
For a lot of people, Greek life is foolish and probably waste of time. But for me, it is something that I believe in. The same reason there are so many people passionate about a cause and advocate for it, I believe in my sorority. I believe in friendship, sisterhood and home away from home. A lot of people look down on "pay for your friends." But, we don't pay for our friends. We pay our dues so that we can have food during events, participate other events, buy gifts for ourselves.
Our alumnae network came together and decided to give our Chapter, a gift. The wooden Greek letters of Alpha Sigma Rho. When I saw the letters, I couldn't be any happier. Seeing the letters made me remember the reason why I am so passionate about ASR. As I came here to Texas by myself, I could never call Texas home. I never felt that I belong to Texas before meeting the amazingly funny sisters of ASR.
I wear my letters on my front because I know my sisters have my back

Discovery Scholars Program
A week ago, I got invited to be part of the Communication Internship Panel! The panel took place today and I got the opportunity to explain and discuss about how to leverage the internship experience! The panel was organized by one of my friends, Marcos.
I felt really great to be part of the panel! It is great to know that what I did is going to help the younger fellows. I got to meet a lot of new people and heard about their experiences, challenges and passions. I feel that everyday I'm learning something new.

A Country Girl in the City
I grew up in a really small city with only 16 streets, with little tall buildings to no skyscrapers. Colon City is just completely different to New York City! Before going to New York, I have heard many things about the city. I would like to share this with everyone.
#1 People are mean
It is true that they are not as charismatic as Texans but they still care about each other. When I was lost in the subway, I asked people for directions and they helped me! They didn't ignore me. When I was struggling with my luggages, a guy came and helped me!
#2 Subways are crazy
It is true that taking the subway can be confusing. If you take the wrong train, you can end up in somewhere pretty scary. There's free wifi in each station but it is still hard to use the phone's GPS. When my phone died, I was freaking out and had to ask people for directions. After getting lost once, I have decided to spend around 15 minutes analyzing the subway routes.
#3 Everything is expensive
Well, everything is more expensive compared to Texas. But your salary is higher! If you decides to live in Manhattan, it can get pretty expensive. But there are more reasonable apartments in Brooklyn!
#4 Everyone can get a job
Well, everyone in NY is more ambitious and dedicated! That's why they are so successful and get a job. There's no free lunch.
#5 There is always something fun to do!
I stayed in NYC for only 6 days and every night was fun. There's so much to do from watching a show, to drinking at a secret bar, to shopping, to exploring the city, etc.
#6 Everyone takes the Cab
I didn't take the cab once except coming from the airport to the hotel and going back. My main way to commute was taking the subway.
Overall, my experience in New York was amazing! I saw snow the first time in my life! Well, according to my friends, it wasn't really snowing but rather sleeting.
After the seminar ended, me and my friend have decided to stay an extra day to explore around. We went to Soho to get Macarons, had lunch at Little Italy, visited the Top of the Rock, explored Central Park, took pictures around the Rockefeller Center and had dinner at Ninja New York!

The Week Before Spring Break
This week has been kind of crazy to me. I had to attend and volunteer at the career fair, interview with 2 companies, study for 2 tests, prepare and present for campaign class, and finalize the details with the SxSW Bike Hugger event. At the same time, my friends from Panama that are studying at UT SA came to visit. We went to Sushi Junai and had unlimited sushi! Even though it was heavy, the experience was great! I love being busy and doing something.
I have one more test in a bit. While studying and trying to not procrastinate, I ended up in Facebook. I watch a video and felt strongly toward a phrase:
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

A different view
MGoing back and forth to Panama has always been fun! Every time I go back home, I think of my family, friends, parties! Whenever I'm home, I feel relaxed and carefree!
This time that I'm going home, I feel different. I might not be able to come back after graduating because of work. Once my OPT starts, I think I can't come back. This time, I spend some time enjoying the sky view. My hometown is so beautiful.
This world is so big and full of opportunities. Even though I don't have a job yet, this world is huge! As long as I keep looking, I will find one.
